Two days ago, I caught a very sweet movie on channel one. “Serendipity”- starring John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale. I have to say that I did something that I thought I would never do. I waited through the commercial breaks for the movie to continue, and I must admit that I enjoyed it very much.
Based on this website, serendipity is defined as: good luck in making unexpected and fortunate discoveries
Jonathan and Sara bump into each other while Christmas shopping in Bloomingdale’s, when they both grab the same pair of black cashmere gloves at the same time. They go for coffee at a café named Serendipity which, Jonathan discovers, is Sara’s favourite word. A firm believer in the power of fate, she refuses to give Jonathan her phone number – instead, she writes her name and number inside the cover of a book, which she then sells to a secondhand bookshop, telling him that if they are meant to be together, the book will find its way to him. Likewise, she makes him write his number on a banknote, which she promptly spends, telling him that if fate decrees it, the note will find its way back to her. A few years on, Jonathan and Sara are both engaged to other people, but each keeps thinking about whether the other is their true soulmate, and then they start to see signs which they interpret as the fates trying to tell them something…
For more comments on the movie
The movie shows you how fate plays little games with us all the time. We see signs everywhere, but very few people take time to interpret those signs. It does however, warn you not to challenge fate.
I must say that I tend to look for signs everywhere. Sometimes I become very spiritual. I also believe that if something is meant to happen, it will happen! The movie is a romantic comedy and I just love this type of movies. I’m a hopeless romantic afterall.
I’m thinking of going to the movies tomorrow, and suggestions??

Over the Hedge- A great cartoon, very funny. I totally loved it. I’d give it 10 out of 10. The animation is wonderful. I loved the little animals and how they got addicted to junk food.
It’s recommended for all of you feeling down or depressed. A good laugh is guaranteed. The funniest part to me was when the Perisan cat, Tiger, said: “boro babaa”
. I really enjoyed my time.
Did you every notice that funny cartoons have very deep meanings? A philosophical dimension maybe? I do.

A couple of days ago I went to watch Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. I would give it 7 out of 10. It was a good movie, but I suddenly felt sick in the middle of it after seeing the disgusting face of Davy Jones, and was about to leave the hall. I personally think it was too much for me to handle.
Overall, the movie was nice but I didn’t understand the ending, probably because I didn’t see part one of the movie.
I wasn’t a big fan of Johnny Depp before seeing the movie, but I liked his role in this particular movie. He was great.
I suppose I’m going to enjoy a romantic comedy much more. I’m a hopless romantic and a romantic comedy movie will surely lift my spirit and put me in a good mood- without having to leave in the middle in the movie.
Actually, there was only one movie which I had to leave the hall 15 minutes after it started. It was Meet the Fockers. It was a terrible movie!

It’s the 11th day of the war, and I’m officially depressed. I’m having nightmares about the war!

I am currently reading Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code. It has been forever since I read a book in English. It is such a great book, filled with details that make you live each scene as if it was real. The book is quite chunky- 104 chapters. I’m halfway through the book. It took me around 10 days to read half of it.
I didn’t intend to read the book until my little sister bought it from the airport. It’s is very interesting, filled with great information that forces you to think and research facts in history and Christianity. After reading the book, I discovered that the movie didn’t meet my expectations. It missed a number of important scenes and conversations that were included in the book. So far, I watched only half of the movie on DVD. I’ll finish the book before seeing the rest of it. I think that it is difficult to understand the movie without reading the book.
I’m glad I didn’t watch the movie in the cinema. I’m planning to go to the movies tomorrow to watch Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest tomorrow with my friends. I hope it’s worth it!
